School District: 250,000 kWh of Annual Savings Identified
A local school district was struggling to identify where energy was being wasted across a complex and varied estate. A two-month Panoramic Power trial identified savings of up to 250,000 kWh per year, equivalent to £17,600 in annual cost reduction.
The Challenge
School districts present a particularly complex energy monitoring challenge. Usage patterns vary significantly across buildings, times of day, and seasons. A wide mix of equipment contributes to overall consumption, from water heaters and cafeteria food warmers to car park lighting and HVAC systems. Without circuit-level visibility, it was difficult to pinpoint where waste was occurring or to prioritise which interventions would deliver the greatest return.
Our Approach
Panoramic Power was deployed across the school district's estate for a two-month trial. Self-powered wireless sensors were installed on devices throughout the schools, covering a broad range of equipment across multiple buildings. A dedicated energy manager was able to monitor consumption patterns in real time, identifying which devices were using the most energy and when inefficiencies were occurring. Once problem areas were clearly identified, appropriate solutions were recommended, giving the district a practical, evidence-based roadmap for reducing energy costs.
The Results
The trial identified that Panoramic Power could save the district up to 250,000 kWh per year, equivalent to £17,600 ($23,000) in annual savings. The two-month testing period provided enough data to underpin a long-term efficiency programme, giving district leadership a clear and defensible plan for reducing both energy costs and carbon emissions across the estate.
